KETTLE COVE/ PORTLAND AFTER DARK

After checking the weather forecast for the weekend I decided to make the trip Friday to Portland Maine to shoot sunset and the city. My friend Rick Berk suggested that I try Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth for the best sunset images.
I made the mistake of traveling on the busiest time and weekend. It seemed to take forever to get where I wanted to go. I finally arrived and took the last parking place in the lot. The location was as good as advertised.

I took my equipment over to a grassy area with several benches and set up. There were several other people there to enjoy the sunset. I spent some time talking with a very lovely lady about my photography and shared some images that were from my previous work. It was great to share a conversation and the sunset with such a great lady. I hope that she enjoys the images that she suggested i capture.

As it became darker, I travelled down to Downtown Portland to shoot some city images. The streets were loaded with people enjoying the restaurant and bars. I found a parking garage that wasn’t full and drove up to the roof where I spent a couple of hours documenting the Friday night crowd.

Finally I drove over to Bug Light Park and shot some images across the Harbor. I looked at my watch and realized that It was much later than I thought so I shut down and headed home. I hope you enjoy the images that resulted.
